I. Project Briefing
Situated at the southwest rim of Shuangliu County, Huanglongxi Ancient Town is 42 km from Chengdu city proper, 34 km from Shuangliu County and 28km from Huayang County. The ancient town boasts a history of over 2,300 years. Jinjiang River of Chengdu flows through Huanglongxi and into the Luxihe River from the east of the county, forming the major water system of the county. The core scenic spot of Huanglongxi covers a 5km2 area with the ancient town at the center. The ancient streets, trees, temples, dikes, dry docks, folk residences, piers, battlefields, cliff tombs and yamens have earned the famous title of"ten ancient views".

II. Basic Investment Information
The permanent venue for International Forum of Mayors of Ancient Towns is planned to be established at Huanglongxi Ancient Town. This project will become the first global platform for the discussions on developing, protecting and utilizing ancient towns of the world, a significant place for promoting international exchanges and cooperation, as well as a an showcase of Chengdu for the outside world. Close to the Wetland Park of the ancient town, the project sit is expected to occupy an area of 19,000 m2, with supporting facilities such as museum, hotels and recreational centers. The conception and front-end coordination have been completed. Currently, Huanglongxi can receive 1.8 million person-times per year and hopefully 2 million person-times in 2007.
Initial Investment Estimate: Investment volume requirement: 80 million RMB. Payback period: 3 to 8 years.

III. Feasibility Analysis
Based on ancient town culture, the project falls into tourism real estate category.
With its 2300 odd years of history, Huanglongxi Ancient Town possesses rich tourism resources, profound cultural deposit and good reputation at home and abroad and has friendly contacts with other ancient towns of China and the world as a whole. Therefore, there is comparative advantage to build the permanent venue for the International Forum of Mayors of Ancient Towns at Huanglongxi. Presently, visitors to Huanglongxi are mainly local Chengduese and non-local domestic and foreign visitors account for only a small portion. The project can promote ancient town cultural tourism and exhibit the scenic and cultural highlights of other ancient towns of the world to attract more non-local visitors.
